Primo definitely killed Sun Rises.
I think I'd rank them;
Jewelz Word...Life The Sun Rises In The East Wrath of the Math
I'd maybe switch Word and Sun Rises depending on my mood.
I think I may be OC biased because dude has been one of my favorites for a long time and Trophies put him over the top and easily into my top 10 *favorite* MCs of all-time.
Something about that Jewelz record that gets me. It doesn't have Time's Up or Born 2 Live but there's something very cohesive yet still very versatile about that album.
while other MCs went over-board with the versatility by having the commercial attempt, the joint for the ladies, the street single etc, it seemed like they weren't being themselves on those records and were trying to fit a mold. OC somehow accomplished that versatility while never not sounding like himself. Not many albums like it in my opinion.
Buckwild, Primo, Show, Lord Finesse, Beatminerz, Ogee all laced him.
My World is classic.
Foxx comes through.
Big L comes through.
Far From Yours is one of my favorite blatant commercial attempts of that era.
Stronjay is classic.
the title track is ridiculous.
as an over all record it's definitely one of my favorites of all-time and one of the most underrated.
I'm leaning toward Jeru personally, because I hold The Sun Rises in really high esteem. It has a great pacing, and "Come Clean" is a monster track. "Mental Stamina" is incredible too. It really only comes apart in during "Da Bichez". I also think Wrath is probably the weakest of the four, but it does have a lot of standout tracks with "Whatever" and "Me or the Papes".
O.C. is more consistent though. Jewelz is a personal fave, but it has too many interludes.

It's not that they are bad but it's just so many of them. I think I would like it better if they were their own tracks so I can skip them if I wanted to. That's my biggest problem with them. Sometimes you just want to hear the song. I don't need to have a 20 second intro on every other song. For the record, it bothers me when everyone does it. It just seems really pronounced to me on Jewelz. I think O.C. is an incredible emcee, and I listen to the album to hear him rap, ya know. But if you have them, just make them separate tracks.

When was the last time to listened to the album? There's the Intro which I'm not even going to count because it doesn't break the pace, which is what your complaint is.
The Chosen One Far From Yours Jewelz
Those are the only three tracks which contain an instrumental before the track. How does that equal "so many"?
>think I would like it better if they were their own tracks so >I can skip them if I wanted to.
That's fair I guess. I always prefer ANY type of interlude to at least be tracked after a song as opposed to in front of it.

I won't argue with your complaint because that's your opinion. I just don't think there are that many on the album and the beats are actually dope so I don't have a problem with the at all. The ones before Far From Yours and Jewelz could've been songs that he rhymed on.

"Sun Rises..." (the best of the four) was pretty much flawless start to finish, whereas "Word... Life", as much as I like it, had a couple tracks I really wasn't feeling ("Ga Head" and especially "Story").
"Jewelz" gets the edge over "Wrath of the Math", but doesn't do enough to tip the scale overall in OC's favor.
OC is the better lyricist. And Jeru had the better beats.
I still play Sun Rises In The East to this day and it hasn't lost anything. Despite what people say about this only being about Premiere I disagree and think Jeru flowed perfectly over those beats with his own style that stood out and made it a perfect marriage of lyrics and music for me.

Love all four albums but I give OC the slightest edge if we take an average score between the albums, but by slight edge I mean Rocky winning over Creed in Rocky 2.
