i was 6 feet away from that photograph i was in the studio watching a shoot with primo at the boards and nas in the back of the frame, through the glass in the booth, mouthing rhymes. and i sort of knew that was gonna be the closest i would ever get to that record.

I've been waiting for one of his albums to be called that since I read it in an interview many moons ago. Just like the Bobby Steels album RZA promised around that era as well.

No way a major label was letting that happen. Premier is top 3 all-time but the youth wouldn't buy that project. With Nas becoming a free agent, they can just put it out independently.

far as I recall, Premier is only scheduled to do minor work on the Eiht record besides mixing, executive producer status, he did offer to release it thru Year Round tho.
U right about Premier's role, but still.. That shit was supposed to drop 3 years ago.. Diff situation; however, im thinking if it took that long for that.. What are the chances of a fully Primo produced NAS LP ever getting made and released?

And I'm sure Primo's trying to hold Nas to his word as a fan as much as a collaborator. Plus the roster of Year Round is decent. He has MC Eiht, NYG'z and Khaleel.
Nick Javas was the only really terrible act he had (I guess he was trying to cash in on the white rapper thing w/ that signing, who knows...). But NYG'z are pretty good and Eiht's a legend. Khaleel's the only real wild card, and he's not necessarily great, but he's not bad either (especially if he gets Group Home caliber tracks).

Decent is decent. Decent isn't a euphemism for anything else. Doesn't mean incredible, but certainly not awful. Panchi and Sha can rap and they make some good NY street music w/ Premier. MC Eiht's out put has been good, his Blue Stamp EP was well-done especially for a 24 year vet. As I said, Khaleel is the only blind spot cause he's so green and underdeveloped.

i actually still want this to happen. i heard a couple premier joints recently that were better than the plodding ish he's been putting out on some songs. also, nas can make street joints, stories, topical songs, or straight raps over premo beats, it'd be nice to hear.
