"Name some non-US rappers who are NOT corny."

And I use the term "corny" very specifically as in that corny dude from high school who although he owned all the right clothes, was up on what's cool and knew what was cool and hip when he saw it, still managed to came off as a bit off or unnatural whenver he tried to be down or cool.

I know it's a bit xenophobic and ethnocentric but I do find for my tastes that there is always an element of cornball with international rappers including our closest cultural folks like the Brits and the Canadians.

The only non-US rapper that I didn't find corny would be that dude K'naan. Not sure why he was the exception to me.

Not to say that Non-US rappers can't rap, didn't have skills or didn't make so worthwhile music, just saying they all had a tinged of cornball-ishness.

Am I alone in this thought?

I feel like I know what you're talking about, I think, and he's struck me as very comfortable in his own skin.

I mean, this video is corny, but only in the way a very unself conscious person can be.

I just ran Joyful Rebellion and Atlantis back to back and I was disappointed with JR. He wasnt all the way there yet with that album and many of the lyrics and arrangements and concepts feel a bit corny. I felt like he was still trying to get his style and sound down.

Atlantis is the album I feel like be reached what he was going for and it came off effortlessly. Every track is so different yet perfectly executed. He has the Hip-Hop joints covered, the soul, the pop, the reggae, the rock. Everything on there has its own place yet the album is still cohesive which is amazing to me.

I haven't spent enough time with Exit yet. It didn't initially grab me like A and JR did.

Yes has some great moments but overall it lost the soul that A and JR had.
