depends on what era of rnb. I can think of more examples for a 60's/70's style than modern day.

Joan Osborne really impressed me in 'Standing in the Shadows of Motown'. Made me think she should've went a more rnb'ish route with her stuff.

I'm not hip to all of Joni Mitchell's catalogue...but a couple things suggest she could make an rnb themed project to me. Like this:

Dolly Parton can do ANYTHING....so I'm sure she could try her hand at rnb.

Maybe Bonnie Raitt? KD lang? Loretta Lynn?
