they cater to completely different demographic. The only real connection that I can draw is that they both tried to bring something completely different to their repertoire and sort of failed, falling off the map in the process. Surprisingly, their careers are similar in a weird way. But I still don't see why you would pick them, even with reasoning you wrote.
