Nas' dad being Olu Dara & all i doubt it's unreasonable to assume Nas saw this is pops' crates

from what i hear the album in ? is dope too, i DLd it but haven't listened, the genre was tagged as "jesus jazz" on the mp3s i DLd haha

all i know for sure is they needed a cover after the jesus in a headlock one got nixed & someone involved musta seen this record & rolled w/ it

i think wiki said nas claims he was unaware of this record but lol @ taking nas at his word

i'm sure it was conceptualized & designed by someone in-house at Columbia
and they OK'ed by Nas and his A&R/Project Manager after the fact

i pictured Nas sittin in da park smoking a phillie then he rose only to blow the herb smoke from his nose, looked at the buildings of QB, flashed back to one of his dad's records & knew it would be the iconic image he would need to bring his street's disciple gospel to the people
