She's sixteen though so that'll happen. Guitar playing, voice and general sense of arranging her voice though... she got a little something going there.

adoptive or no.
Was there any indication that that song is a traditional versus an original? Didn't see any.
It'd be cool if someone broke big as a non-English-speaking UK act... there are like 7 languages native to the UK, more if you count dialects, and while a few very successful acts have started out singing in Scots or Gaelic, they've only gained pop success in English (Capercaillie, Runrig.) Meanwhile Wales had Meic Stevens. Who's good, but not on the commercial level of Welsh songwriters who use English.

if you count how many days have passed in the year and multiply that by 20 that's how many times i've heard those songs. i know they are still good but i never want to hear her voice again right now and know i have no choice but to continue hearing it until i can find them someone else to fall head over heels for.
15. "RE: HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!" In response to Reply # 12
yeah, she raw. gifted.
like u said, the effortlessness. not just of her voice, but her execution on them strings. like she probably sounded decent the first time she ever picked up an instrument.
17. "now if she can marry some of that feel into her songs" In response to Reply # 12
while still using that soft-fingered slappy guitar technique, we might be talking.
Dunno why I'm surprised she's a boss fiddler (though she does re-use a few of the same tricks several times in that bit, it's understandable if it's just her messing around for idea generation like she says). Guess I just figured if she's repping Welsh culture and was good at the fiddle, it woulda come out in teh first few things I saw.
19. "While good, wouldn't call that better, all relative though" In response to Reply # 18
Not really comparable. Though I used a live looping video in the opener, it's the only one she's got. Even still she's using a lot less pedals, and I'm guessing they aren't in the same age bracket, could be wrong on that one though.

I'm sure she's doing it out of necessity but the fact that she learned how to do it is amazing and proof of her dilligence

and solo singer songwriters Ive' seen from SXSW this year to CMJ a month ago. Did Digitech/Boss have a massive sale or something? lol.
It's dope tho, lets see if her songwriting hits her chops. Which brings me to another odd point, it seems songwriting really takes off once an artist gets some 'life' under their fingernails which is why many extremely talented prodigal musicians just have ok songwriting chops as teens/kids.
Seems you can't figure out how to make that confusing bridge to chorus work in a song until you had a few broken hearts under your wing.

..esp for live performance
spoke to e-robe about it last year (he's been using this approach to smaller shows for quite some time) and said it was basically a means to an end.
this gives flexibility for instances when there's a gig available, but they can't afford your standard fee for the full band/set. doesn't replace the energy of a full band, but certainly broadens the range of a solid trio.

I just found it fascinating how even tho they've been around for a minute how they've branched out from noiser/experimental acts to more nuanced quieter acts

really love her do it yourself attitude towards this whole thing as it shows a lot more depth imo.
and the loop pedal performance reminded me a bit of andreya triana. have to admit that i am in love with good use of the pedal since i first saw her live a couple of years ago.
To people like US, a record is a piece of history. A moment in time. Most people don't get it.

impression, which is surprising to me because most of the youtube "watch what I can do with a loop pedal" singer songwriters I've watched in those BOSS competitions are impressive but don't really translate to something I'd actually listen to
might have to buy the Kizzy EP
Theresa has like 4 albums and 2 EPs on Spotify and I only checked out one track just now, "Street Parade", but the production was surprisingly awesome. i could see why some of you don't like her voice but I dig it
