pretty hard to be a culture vulture....It's almost damn near impossible in hip-hop...

The only "culture vulture" I know of is Vanilla Ice....Dude was the ultimate culture vulture...

Immense success and being white does not equal being a hip-hop culture vulture...It's attitude and the feeling that you are just faking it and consider the culture/music as disposable.....

That's why beyond all the hyperbole surrounding him I've never considered Eminem a culture vulture....

Neither is Macklemore (dude was basically an indie rap act that made it big)...

Everlast, Bubba, Slug, 3rd Bass, Dru Ha, ect....Nope...I don't consider culture vultures either...

Kid Rock comes VERY close (he kinda Pink-ed us, didn't he?)

And Fred Durst just sucked....

Dropping Tarrie B is taking it back.

The late eighties and early nineties had a few examples of folks like Tarrie B, the White Boys, Ivy Blu, Surf MCs and Vanilla Ice being touted as white rappers who didn't necessarily grow up in or around the music (which was still pretty young).

They were truly on that Pat Boone(I'm not saying Elvis because young Elvis was the truth-but that's for another post).

It's much harder to find a true culture vulture today because most contemporary artists have grown up immersed in hip-hop and have a real affinity for it. Even if they are wack (like that Gucci, Gucci chick)
