"A song that an MC shocked you on...."


          

This thread is just to talk about a song/s that an MC did and it shocked you in a good or bad way.

I will start with The Game and his song "Letter To The King" off LAX

..Game was deep on it to me, delivered better than NAS and there appeared to be some genuine passion and word play on the track...


What track did an MC shock you on?

Real talk, listening to this track yesterday I forget how dope it was..

I've literally never listened to a Drake verse and been wowed or impressed. He can write but his voice grates me and he never gives me that "I need to rewind this" feeling. On this song, he did. I was shocked. Only time he's ever done that to me. Too bad Ross was too embarrassed by it to include the full song on his album.

best verse of his life, didn't know he had even that in him

and Wayne on Bobby V's Tell Me remix, although that may just have more to do with me liking the song despite not being a Wayne fan. His verse was competent and didn't mess up the song for me.

The first time I heard the track I thought his part on the hook was a sample since the track didn't list a feature. Once the verse kicked in I figured it must have been some hood legend Southern rapper I just never heard before but everybody else would know(like Lil Keke or somthin). Once I found out that that was actually one of Rick Ross' weed carriers I was shocked. Turns out that nigga got bars. Whodathunkit.
