TI has been saying this on albums for years and nobody has really called him out on a grand scale. So, do fans see him as the King of the South? He has had a long career, some great albums, has sales, get love from fellow artist. Where does TI rank among artist in ATL and in the south in general?

Some people said it was disrespectful to Scarface for TI to say that.
Ross had beef with TI, but I don't know if it was over that.

Concerning the question tho, I think cats are too concerned with being the king
of this or that region. If you're king of anything or the greatest, the people will
crown you. You don't have to constantly say it.
I will say TI is one of the most, if not the most, "successful" solo rappers from
the South tho. The funny thing about TI, is that after all he's done, he could
drop something hot today, and no one would look at him like a washed up has-been.
He's had alotta success in the past and could easily have a lot in the future.

Yeah, he did get at him on War of Gods or something like that...

World wide respected, classics to prove it...

Even though he isn't active, the crown is still his...and trust....if he came out with an album now, it would be FLAMES.

Even though he is a southern rapper, he comes from the TRUE SCHOOL of hip hop where dope is dope and he didn't have to gimmick it up to get the peoples and industry respect.

Besides Outkast, on a universal scale, there is no Southern rapper that gets more props than Face.

TI gets props....but not Scarface props.

Face is more respected overall as a legend but I guess I wasnt looking at it that deep...I feel you though

It's the name he created for himself so who's to say he can't call himself that

Scarface said he's ok with it, as I'm sure a lot of the other prominent artists of the south are

It's damn close but I'd take albums 1 and 3 over The Fix. I'm sure most east coast cats prefer The Fix though due to the sound.

Outkast is by far the biggest hip-hop act to come from the South but Scarface is still the king based on his respect and his legendary status in the game.

Neither Andre or Big Boi stand on their own at the same level as Face does without the Geto Boys.

TI is lucky to be in the top 5 from the South.

and TI ain't made enough juice to make that kind of claim

had he stayed consistant as he appeared from 04--08 then you might have a strong case, however he fell off and something is a step off with his work IMO he keeps a hot song, however i can't get into over half of his albums. he would have a tight greatest hits or a strong 6 song EP IMO of his hits
