"Does anyone ever. EVER. Listen to the Wu Forever intro?"

I mean the first disc first track.

Man I'm in a serious Wu kick right now, and I am just now realizing I might have never once made it through Disc 1 Track 1.

AND I FORFEITED SUMMER SCHOOL CREDITS TO BUY THE ALBUM SO YOU KNOW I TAKE THIS ALBUM SERIOUSLY.

I don't skip anything when I'm listening to an album though. There's also that kung-fu sample at the end of it that flows nicely to Reunited imo.

it's on the album, right?

Back when skip buttons were relevant my skip button stayed factory fresh. I don't even dislike the song, but I don't skip songs I don't like. I'll just be less likely to listen to an album with songs I don't like.

I think it's the perfect intro to the album. Gets you in a wu-state of mind. It is too long though. Not really a track you want to play when you're sitting in front of a computer.

all excited, take it out the packaging, even the beginning of the intro I'm like 'alright, this shit's gonna ramp up'

......*sitting*......*sitting*.....*looks at watch*.....finally....

*kung-fu sample, 'Reunited' strings/drums snap in*.......

"Okay, got it, that's the last time I ever wait thru that".

Conversely, I absolutely listen to RZA's intro to begin the second disc if I'm playing that album.

That shit is pure, unadulterated, speech-impediment-spitfire truth serum & goes perfectly into 'Triumph'.

Plus it's 2 minutes from The RZA-Rector as opposed to damn near 7 from 'Papa Wu'.

overall the texture and quality of the music of 'Forever' didn't match up to 'Enter...'

there should have been some smart business person who only specialized in record storage so that the accidents of Tip and RZA could be prevented.

It felt like the intro just continued in a way even if I like the violin-riff and there are some cool lines from the mc's. Still, "For heaven's sake" is the true beginning to me and also the only song on the entire album except possibly "Triumph" that I think could hang with the best previous stuff from the Wu and the solos...

And that's family! There is nothing to be gained by listening to that other than learning that Poppa Wu is calling his black woman a bitch. Well he does kinda quote the 1-10 but hell who wants to sit through that on an album?

40. "I've Always Hated Long Ass Talking Intros On Rap Albums"
In response to Reply # 0

That's probably why I'm always skipping all of Busta Rhymes' intros as well, but he always come thru on the second part of his intros, so basically I just skip forward halfway thru it then bam, a dope Dj Scratch beat starts to thump.

Speaking of intros and Busta, I skip the first song "Geek Down" on J-Dilla's "The Shining as well, that joint was too damn long for Busta to be yelling & cursing with that lame sample loop.
