"Exemplary instrumental combinations/arrangements"

what 2 (or up to 4) instrumental combinations can give you close to the feeling you want from music a good amount of the time? (not necessarily all the time).

For me (for a 74 minute CDR with MP3's burned on it):

Air - Le Voyage de Penelope

Tony Williams lifetime - Mom and Dad

I have the Air song 3 times in a row before I put in the Tony Williams lifetime song. I then have the Air song 5 times in a row before I start alternating the songs to finish up the 74 min CDR.

The Air song is good but brief so repeating it on the CDR seems to do something satisfying. The Tony Williams Lifetime song does it's job without needing that kind of repetition.

Another would be:

Mile Davis CDR (doesn't equal 74 minutes total but......)

Ascent (New mix) off the "Complete 'In a silent way' sessions" box set

The Ghetto Walk (New mix) off the "Complete 'In a silent way' sessions" box set

Double Image (previously unissued 8:28 minutes version off the "Complete 'Bitches Brew' sessions" box set)

Yaphet (off the "Complete 'Bitches Brew' sessions" box set)

Anyone else got any effective combinations/arrangements of instrumentals?

Well, possibly, but more likely a state of wanting the next song.

but there's no instrumental songs that wouldn't put you in a desired state if repeated in a certain arrangement?

I just commented because you're describing a different way of listening than what I know. It's interesting.

I tend to like to listen to complete albums, which, if they're coherent works, communicate a consistent feeling.

Have to think about this some more.
