Gibbs is one of my favorite rappers out... but it doesn't seem as if he or anyone around him knows what an album sounds like, or how much Gibbs a person can hear on a project before they start to get a littttttle bored - regardless of how good the raps and beats might be... love the dude's flow, lyrics, voice, delivery.. he's got shit pretty much DOWN, but his style really isn't conducive to 19-track albums..

19 tracks from Gibbs, considering his track record, might be unfocused and could be bloated in terms of an album.... if it's just a collection of songs, then cool, put 100 on that shit, Gibbs is that dude.. but album format? i'm starting to think that 15 might be my max.. i think about albums as if they're supposed to be enjoyed 1 full listen at a time (in the same way that we watch a movie in one sitting).. if thought isn't given to pacing, listener's fatigue, sequencing, some sort of sonic or vibe cohesiveness, then i think the album is poorly planned...
now, i'm not attributing that to an album i've never heard... i HOPE it's a worthwhile 19-track epic from Gibbs... that's what i want it to be, seeing that the album is 19 tracks.. however, in the past i think some Gibbs projects have faltered by being too bloated.. i think all Gibbs fans think the dude is capable of putting out a classic album.. i just want to see that realized... not complaining about too much music...

Runs a little long like most of his projects but it's very consistent. Production is pretty top-notch and his weed carriers sound pretty good here too.

it suffers from the same problems as Cold Day in Hell and Baby Faced Killa in that I feel like Freddie is starting to go in circles. Midwestgangsta was a fucking classic, in part because he had songs that fit all kinds of moods and positions. I feel like lately he's almost always talking about how dangerous his friends are, how good his weed is and how good his womens' vaginas are. I'm missing the "Murda on My Mind", "County Bounce", "Iodine Poison", "One More Time" and so on that spiced him up. Now it's all as much bass and menace as possible, even on the sweet songs.

I wish there was a second Gibbs verse on the song though. Does Gibbs have a good distribution deal? I want to get my hands on the CD verson of this rather than have to buy it through iTunes and I don't want to go the Amazon route.
