...I also liked how 3rd Bass used "FM" in "No Static At All".

He could have done a lot better (Lyrically too) but he was onto something. Just seemed like he feel in love with the idea and got gassed up too quickly then just moved on to the next song. If he spent more time on it he could have made a lot better song.

Smacks it... copped this DVD a while back when I was put onto it by my mate (and fellow Dan fan) Sparkii.

Honourable mention to Ice Cube's use of "The Fez" for a St Ides Commercial in the early 90s. (pre Korean controversy :/ )

That was the only thing missing to me was Steve Gadd.

Chuck Rainey talking about slapping the chorus of "Peg" on the low is hilarious and awesome.

Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz sampled the song when they was an underground group, the song blew up and they got signed to Sony, they had to clear the sample and Steely Dan charged them $100,000, took all the publishing rights, & 90% of the royalties as well for that song.

After the album dropped their biggest hit was still "Deja Vu" and even though the album went gold and almost platinum, the cost of that one song was more than it took them to produce & record the entire album, and Tariq & Peter hardly saw any profit from it other than tour money.

once burned one while shooting the shit with donald fagen and larry campbell, super nice guy. he was doing one of the midnight rambles, they did a steely dan tune among all the covers and band stuff, but it totally escapes my mind. the version he, levon and company did of "shakedown street" was fucking mind blowing though. those were great shows, man, i wish i could have gotten to another, oh, 75 or so lol.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

I loved the regular and remix of "Walk Into The Sun", De La Soul's "Eye Know" is cool and is my second choice, but people voting "Deja Vu" are only voting for it cause it was the biggest hit but all they did was just loop up a sample that was already looped up before by hip-hop artists.

I bought 3 Feet High and Rising on cassette at a flea market. It was bootleg, lol. I fell in love with "Eye Know". I could NOT stop listening to it. To this day, that song makes floods me with memories of my childhood.
