Soul episode#46 (shot October 13, 1971–airdate unclear) (to be posted) In a departure from the series’ usual format, this program is devoted entirely to a film titled “Epitaph,” the story of a Black youth whose life is ended by heroin. It was written by a 26-year-old Black filmmaker, Richard Mason, who died of an overdose two months after starting on the production. The work was completed by Samuel Holmes, a graduate of NET’s Television Training School for young people from minority groups.
