We got the new Jazz Invaders ft. Dr. Lonnie Smith in at my store yesterday, and everywhere I looked for information mentioned the Dutch Nu Jazz Movement, so now I'm looking for more artists with that sound/ style. I may have heard some of it, or know some of the artists already, but for the life of me that name isn't one I remember. Here's one of the tracks from "That's What You Say," the Jazz Invaders record in question: Jazz Invaders featuring Dr. Lonnie Smith - "Mellow Mood" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkBLDosdAIY

Not sure about the label. Could have been the group/label that attributed it. I'm not versed enough to name them but there are others in the same lane. Jazzanova comes to mind.

I didn't actually look up the label, maybe that would be a start...
The first thing I thought of though when I was listening to it was The Seatbelts & the jazz stuff they did for the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack.
My first assumption about the phrase was that is was in relation to acid jazz, or to stuff like 4Hero, & the NuYorican Jazz records, like electronica, but with a jazz aesthetic or jazz roots, but then I saw it was a straight band.
Of course google is your friend, & if I had just looked up the words "dutch nu jazz" I would have found this: http://www.dutchnujazz.com/ But I didn't cuz I'm a dork like that... Oh well at least there's some discussion going on...
