>voodoo just plods along
when listening to the vinyl last night i told my wife the reason i always like BS better was bc each song stood out on its own (while still being cohesive & smartly limited to 10 tracks) while V moreso blended together, with many of the individual songs not seeming to really have their own identity...
i think now that im older & am able to listen to music better (just meaning that ive learned enough to think about the music more rather than just go on feeling) i kind of "get" it more, not that i didnt always love the record but last night it really kinda clicked & i remember last time i had pulled out my old cdr copy it felt the same
or something, lol

I no joke haven't played it in like 10 years. Maybe my soon to be 36 year old ears will get it more now. I always liked 'Africa'. The wack juice that was the Red/Meth collab is another thing i clearly remember.
that, and how much superior 'Devil's Pie' sounds after suffering through the disc.
ummm....all i have (amerie) or dangerously in love (beyonce) or a love story (vivian green)

but ppl need to stop with this voodoo backlash..i dont think its the be all end all like some do, but its definitely better than brown sugar (which i love) and a crazy album...the vibe is so thick on that joint, its palpable...reminds me of slum village almost, how its more about vibe than any "song" or anything...i still dont understand the joint with redman and method man, and devils pie to a much lesser extent...dont seem to fit with the other material...but its a heavy album, foolish to deny that.
