I'm not sure why people are calling them awesome for singing the song exactly as it was recorded though. It sounded good mainly because it's an awesome song and they played it note for note.
Can't say I'm impressed with this at all though. I mean, they're a band with singers and didn't outdo 3000's vocals (which, given the previous fact, should be a very easy feat). Not a good look, imo, but if people dig it, then rock on.
I don't think the vocals were god-awful, but not only would I rather hear 3000's, but his vocals are actually TECHNICALLY better, which is just damn near weird, considering he's not much of a singer at all. I fux with Tame Impala heavy tho.

there's nothing wrong with this. it's not unique. it's just a re-creation of the original. no new notes, no new angle, no new spin. a great cover adds something new to the song. ex. matthew southern comfort band - woodstock all this did was make me want to hear and appreciate the original.

But damn those were some terrible vocals. You know it's bad when a rapper is singing better than a so-called singer. I've been liking some of Tame Impala's music but this actually makes me lose some respect for them talent wise.
