"Artists You Couldn't Grow With......" Fri Apr-05-13 11:49 AM by WarriorPoet415
As we all know, it's and artist's prerogative to go left of center from where they started. But sometimes, you can't fuck with it.
I STILL know black women that wish Pink had kept doing urban r&b.
Some people couldn't follow Miles when he tried fusion.
Some people still lament Mariah Carey going hip-hop.
What artist did you have to say "whoa there, feller.....I'll hit you up when you come back home" when they changed up the style or tried a new direction????
PRE-EDIT::: I had a house remix of Jill Scott's Slowly, Surely on an old laptop.
Or so I thought. I booted up the old beast this morning, dying to hear this song, and I didn't have it.
I'm hoping one of you guys here has it, as I think I got it from Okayplayer originally.
It's a house remix with saxophone all over the track, and a sax solo....
Anyone?????? I'd really appreciate a link if anyone has it. ______________________________________________________________________________

Cameo...because alligator woman was their best lp and even though I have word up, it has a few good songs but the rest of their lps after word up were not good because I remember when I bought real men wear black cassette back in 1992 or 1993, it didnt sound too good and we were listening to it in the car and my uncle was like " they just threw something together with that one".
