but my answer is I doubt it. I think that what CB is doing (should he stay on the same path of hip-hop infused R&B) may do much to rehabilitate his musical image, and hopefully inspire a few others in the same boat to get off that EDM (though if Usher does it I'm calling PB&J)

but I think the state of the business (particularly R&B on major labels) is such that it'll take much more than that to "revive" interest in that style of music on a grand stage.

Regardless if you're fans or not, it seems to me like they're the ones getting ppl way more excited for it plus drawing in tons of new fans. It's sounds new and they definitely can grow into new directions.

I mean there's lots of artists that are doing heavily rnb influenced stuff in other genre's like James Blake, Jamie Lidell, Little Dragon, SBTRKT

Aren't you always the one that points to album sales? He's one of the few ppl selling in this market and selling really well.

>Solange is the modern day latoya jackson minus a hit

Although her last EP didn't light up the charts (Not many EPs do) it did get on pretty much every year end list and went over big anytime I heard it played in a club. Plus her tour was extremely successful, sold out in seconds here in Toronto.

the person that does it would have to not do the pop/rap/tinging stuff that's been prevalent for over a decade, until then it won't happen
