interesting 30 years in and they got a new album out and regardless if you are like me and think they got 2and half songs and are basically a Western family version of Bruce Springsteen, they still find a way to keep it moving.

they were on idol last night and are still doing there thing.

where you stand on them??

if you mean to the public at large, then no.
folks know them for their 80s hits (which are still karaoke staples)
and maybe one or two songs from their 90s resurgence.

regular people aren't checking for their new albums.

but i'm sure they can sell out stadiums to their hundreds of thousands
of fans for as long as they feel like playing.

that's why i asked "to who?"
sade doesn't have an album out right now.

if it was announced that they were releasing an album,
i doubt the young folks that dictate what's in the top 40 would care.
so to "regular" pop fans, sade is irrelevant.

that being said, if a tour is announced, it's selling out.

i could say the same thing for prince's new third eye girl project.
top 40 doesn't care, but his millions of fans still do.

stevie wonder hasn't released an album in a decade.
the streets aren't clamoring for a new stevie wonder album.
if he released an album, i doubt it would crack the top ten.

but there will always be a sizeable market for stevie wonder material
as long as he's alive.

the question "is _____ still relevant" doesn't make any sense
unless we know what group of people you're talking about.
that's what i was asking that question.

is bon jovi relevant to the majority of people consuming pop music right now?
hell no.

is bon jovi still relevant to a shitload of people?
probably.

They sell out stadiums and I imagine any album they put out flies off the shelves of your local Walmart.
