check the -10db button on the actual mic, check for any -somethin db knobs on the preamp and/or the soundcard!

Check the internal mixer (software) for both the general sound preferences and the specific soundcard youre usin...
Any inputs muted or turned down?

Lastly, check the input gain knob on the preamp and/or the soundcard!
