Cuz Kanye, Wiz, and A$ap is who the teenagers like.

If teenagers don't like you then you're not relevant and your opinions don't matter.

dude completely missed that you were referencing having solidarity with the LGBT community bringing up Leif's tape and had nuthin to do with the relevance of Lord Jamar and his diss track

i always find it strange when hyper-masculine men are SO CONCERNED with the wears of other men, they fail to see the homoeroticism latent in their fascination with men's clothes that aren't baggy jeans, kicks/boots, ts, caps, and hoodies.

He right though. Fashion or what you're rockin' has always been a part of Hip-Hop. When cats deviated from the unspoken dress code, they got dissed.

This is comedy>>>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zW6tpk0uquw

They rockin tight ass jeans though and he went off about that too. I agree though, kilts, skirts, whatever have no place in hip hop. Now if house of pain wanted to rock kilts I'd have no problem with it. On another note, I am against old ass dudes rockin fitted caps and shit.

baggy pants emerged from prison and skater culture. literally one day some young kids in the burbs said imma wear pants 5-10 sizes biiger than my waist cause i feel more comfortable (or cause mom can't afford to buy me knew jeans every year, so she bought bigger ones) and it caught on AND THAN companies started making "baggy jeans". Cholos and gang bangers were rocking baggy fits in the 80s, so what you talkin bought. some of yall are dense as shit when it comes to fashion trends and how they get popular

Punks Jump Up To Get Beat Down wasn't exactly a ralling cry for inclusion.

i've actually been meaning to make a post about it, but Brand Nubian has uttered some of the most anti-gay rhetoric/lyrics that i can recall.

Reason

1-He's not a battle type of rapper. He's at his best when rapping about specific topics on a more commentary type vibe. He's not known for dropping classic one liners.

2-Not many people know who he is so if Kanye chose to address him just based on popularity alone, Kanye would make Jamar look crazy. Kanye has way more energy in his performance, is more clever, is funnier

and

3-He's got writers lurking in the wings.

4-Being that Jamar is not very active in the industry anymore, those writers could pretty much beat him over the head with his inability to maintain relevance over the years.

It would give Jamar some attention but I doubt that it would actually benefit him in the long run career-wise.

And aside from all of that...HE CAN'T BEAT THE KANYE MACHINE.

peace

However Kanye isn't exactly a battle rapper himself

Despite his current popularity, he (and his crew) know better.
Lord Jamar's a vet and they know he's not a dummy.

the effeminization of the black man
ain't like he pulled that idea out his ass
granted kanye and asap aren't dressing in drag
but walking down the street looking like lenny kravitz makes them more palatable to mainstream white customers
it's less threatening
kanye is a pop artist at this point anyway so i'm not sure why dude is mad or expecting kanye to be some kind of protector of "rap culture"
