"Think It Over" is still the album's saving grace, but it wasn't till I heard some of the live acoustic sessions he did when I found out what they did wrong.
Granted, he's still the most interesting male vocalist we have in R&B/Soul, which is why I'm still rooting for him.

dude is one of my absolute faves, Airtight was crazy fly, i have to admit it took me about three full spins to get where he went on it, but man I'm like dude said above, I couldn't put it down for months, then he sang it live and KILT...needless to say I eagerly await this album I'm like a Bilal junkie..btw thanks for the snippets link

I'm not a fan of the prozac-induced "neo soul" era save for a few things from a couple of artists including him.
But I felt like there was too much emphasis on the production as opposed to his voice. If it was a different artist, I might've gotten into it more, but him? His own instrument is interesting enough and he could do so much with it without the constant interruption from the production. Take "Love For Sale" for example, it was a departure from neo soul, but the producers didn't try to "carry" him, they gave him the freedom to raise hell vocally as much as he wanted to, his voice was the sole attention of that whole album.
AR felt like the "producer so & so featuring Bilal" as opposed to Bilal's 2nd album. I apologise if I'm not making any sense lol,,,,,

airtight revenge was awesome to me and i'll probably be at his next show at WCL if ppl like dudes music i think u have to support him thru this album, career seems to be hanging in the balance (some of these songs sound amateurish to me production wise like he couldn't afford the proper resources)

The other day I was reading this post in the archives about how the soulquarians are so lazy. Oldpro who was like "Bilal is even worse. This cat has 1.... count that shit again... ONE album. Truth be told he has ONE song" and this was written in 2009 ! I mentally smh at this comment, because at that time dude has already produced his best effort to date (Im talking about Love For Sale) not to mention that he was already working on this 3rd album and was also touring consistently since 2007. But I digress, it's sad that what I consider being his best effort to date hasn't been released but apparently his former label own those songs.
I just listened to the snippets, it sounds good, Lost For Now and Butterfly sounds like the standout ...
