I still think that it's pretty excellent but I agree with you in that I think the effort and the concept/theory behind the project was better than the end result. I listened to it a bunch when it came out but I never really find myself wanting to listen to it anymore. Randomly I'll go and listen to a track but I probably haven't listened to the whole thing front to back since like 2008.

Love the album, own multiple copies on wax + the J.Rocc EP (extended "Light My Fire" FTW), but as others mentioned.....it's a heavy listen for a lot of die-hard fans.
I actually spin the original samples WAY more than the album. In fact, my lady surprised me with the LV Johnson - "I Don't Really Care" 45 for Christmas. As far as completing the Donuts OG crate, I still need about 10 more or so. Been on the lookout for the "Twister" sample in Nashville and STL for a few years now....no luck so far.

I don't know, not an amount that matters. There's probably been a year or two I haven't listened to it at all.
I mean there were over 1,000 releases last year that I'm interested in, and I barely got through a fraction of that with any real attention paid. I just can't spend most of my time listening to stuff I've already heard when there's so much out there that I haven't heard. I already know how much I love Donuts, or anything else I love, and for me most of the time that's good enough. On to the next one.
