^after selling millions of records and presumbly... eating (literally) jay-z justifies aloud that a 36 inch waist is still "thin". mo money, mo problems

common sense has mad lines that seem like he was working something out on wax but usually in the form of a diss.
same with tribe called quest, who pretty much made their career on incorporating their neuroses into their verses.
anyway, list some lines that made you raise an eyebrow and wonder... "wtf make him say THAT?"

but trying to justify that a 36" waist still qualifies you as "thin" is delusional. which maybe is what he was struggling with the day he wrote that line and incorporated it into his rap as a coping method. hence, the concept of this post...

and now that i'm trying to think about it i can't even rationalize it.
unfortunately, i cosign that 36" ain't thin at all.

He begins his rhyme in a prototypical rappity rap fashion then suddenly diverts into a furious diatribe denouncing lascivious women and the hapless males who foolishly covet them. One could reasonably infer from said verse that Kurupt was likely a sensitive thug who indeed could have benefited from receiving a warm embrace.
Now initially it sounds kinda comical and random, but why did he say that? I mean it's WU so you expect to hear these guys speaking in code and throwing random shit in their verses. But that line couldn't have just come outta nowhere right?
Well it didn't. And if that was his alibi, the judge wasn't buying it.

Dope line.
Common spit a lot of lines like this throughout his career, talking about walking the fine line between maintaining his artistic integrity while still being able to make a living off the art.
From De La Soul's "Days of Our Lives":

Edit: I forgot the "weird" and "inexplicable" part I guess. But nonetheless.
