Ewan Mcgregor - "Your Song" by Elton John (as sung by Ewan Mcgregor in MOULIN ROUGE)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REGzrwMj_N4

His spotlight piece from MOULIN ROUGE.

Ask This Old House - "Burning Down the House" by the Talking Heads
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNnAvTTaJjM

Just using house as the motif. You could possibly even change it to "Rebuilding the house..."

Charles Grodin - "Midnight Run" by Example
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwYGi7YG4Js

Just as a nod to one of his more famous movies.

Vacation - The Go-go's
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1u2G6OyZyCI

Why? In his new movie he goes on a family vacation to Thailiand - and then a tsunami hits the country.

#2: Swept Away - The Roots
I know you don't play songs by The Roots for legal reasons? But maybe.....

Ewan Mcgregor
Sheena Easton's "Morning Train (9 To 5)"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huNejF17gzg
REASON: McGregor and Easton are Scottish, and I want the song to refer to his role in TRAINSPOTTING.

Ask This Old House
Mary Jane Girls' "In My House"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RENIRXApuW8
REASON: Name recognition in reference to the title of the show.

Charles Grodin
The Jacksons' "This Place Hotel"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeyBe9Abf_Y
REASON: He was in THE HEARTBREAK KID, and portrayed the role of the person of emphasis that was the "kid", so check the lyric so that it says "he is the heart...break...kid."

"My Wave" - Soundgarden
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7c1PML5kfbg
(since his new flick is about the Tsunami)

Ask This Old House
"Our House" - Crosby Still Nash & Young
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9I27w8Tuyw
(change it up a bit to "Out house, is a very, very, very old house...")

Charles Grodin
"Linus And Lucy" - VInce Guraldi Trio
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3ZG8MJ64ic

(a.k.a. the dance song from A Charlie Brown Christmas-- it is that season, his name is Charles and he legendarily has a pretty pessimistic disposition, just like out man Charlie Brown.)

Charles Grodin: "Roll Over Beethoven."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLD5H4uQ1xs

Reason: He was in Beethoven (you remember that 1992 classic, right? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103786/)

Can you get the first (1996) Charles Grodin Show theme song?

I can't find it - but it was a cNBC property.

He also directed many Paul Simon and Simon and Garfunkel specials.

He's great - but I got NOTHING.

Tom Cruise - "It's In The Way That You Use It" by Eric Clapton
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzJZTwFYKv4

It was used in the Scorsese film THE COLOR OF MONEY that Tom Cruise starred in. You could change it to "It's in the way that you Cruise it..."

Judd Apatow - "Solid" by the Dandy Warhols
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0H1blQckNw0

Solid was the theme to UNDECLARED, which was Judd's acclaimed TV follow up to FREAKS AND GEEKS.

Tom Cruise
Primus' "Tommy The Cat" (emphasis begins at 3:22)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4OhIU-PmB8
REASON: His name is Tom, and Led Zeppelin's "Poor Tom" cannot be played so I went for one of my favorite Tom-related songs.

Judd Apatow
Primus' "My Name Is Mud"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=953PkxFNiko
REASON: His name is Judd, so I went for the almighty song that can be changed to "My Name IS Judd".

Ed Burns
The Byrds' "Turn, Turn, Turn"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4ga_M5Zdn4
REASON: Name recognition. Change the lyrics to "to everything, burns, burns, burns/there is a season, burns, burns, burns"

ALTERNATE CHOICE:
Randy Newman's "Burn On" (emphasis at 1:45)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPmjTG8NLuw
REASON: Name recognition again. This is the lyric in question:
"Burn on, big river, burn on
Burn on, big river, burn on
Now the Lord can make you tumble
And the Lord can make you turn
And the Lord can make you overflow
But the Lord can't make you burn"

Victor Cruz
Smokey Robinson's "Cruisin'"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlzY6cWpoMQ
REASON: Name recognition.

Jeff Musial
Living In A Box's "Living In A Box"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sq8VDXlWQk
REASON: He is sure to bring out an animal that lives (or survives) in a box.

Billy Crystal
"Frere Jacques" (from his first movie RABBIT TEST)
http://youtu.be/GgoPpx6h-98?t=1h7m56s
REASON: This was one of my favorite movies as a kid, because it was on basic cable and it was so stupid. The scenario involves Crystal getting pregnant and he travels around the world. In this scene, he goes to Africa and meets with a tribe who sings "Frere Jacques" in doo-wop form. The harmonies are great, and I want to focus on that, and while I know Crystal has done so much since then, I always loved that part of the movie because of how great and wrong it is. The scene in question, and a number of other elements in the film, are obviously racist, but you can blame that on Joan Rivers, who directed and co-wrote the film.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbit_Test_%28film%29

I don't want it to be considered a BAMBOOZKED moment, but I'll aim for it and take a chance.

Tyson Chandler
Busta Rhymes' "New York Shit" (emphasis at 1:07)
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xxpra_busta-rhymes-new-york-shit_music#.UMzXXazheSp
REASON: He's a New York Knick, so I chose a song that mentioned them:
"Yeah! I'm on my New York shit
I rep the Giants, the Jets, New York Knicks
Taylor made clothin with my New York stitch
My chick bangin don't you see my New York bitch
Yeah! I'm on my New York shit
You n****s know we deserve the props we get
Ridin up in the range I'm in my New York whip
International chicks on my New York dick"

You can opt to reverse the profanities, MTV style, so that "shit" can become "ish" and "bitch" becomes "chib".

he wasn't born there, but he went to high school in Compton, which is where his basketball legend began..

Billy Crystal: Sweet Freedom by Michael McDonald
if you can get him to do any of the ridiculous dances he did with Gregory Hines in that video, then you are definitely winning. here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-xetxYwyak

Mario Batali - "Just a Friend" by Mario (the Biz remake)

Just a play on his name.

In response to Reply # 7

Paul Rudd
Primus' "My Name Is Mud"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=953PkxFNiko
REASON: If the song is not played for Judd Apatow, I'd like to suggest it for Mr. Rudd.

Mario Batali
Beat Happening's "Red Head Walking"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8bGZl8k2PQ
REASON: I know the chefs generally don't have songs anyway, but Batali has Pacific Northwest roots (from nearby Yakima, Washington), Beat Happening are from Olympia, he has red hair, and thus I revive this song in honor of Mr. Batali.
