"Yo, any of yall know much about this dude?"

the song is from 1997. I first heard it on a college hip-hop radio show back in the day. My boys and I lost it when they played it. Once we finally caught dude's name, we checked for him but he didn't have anything out. Found out a little late it was on a Tony Touch album. Never heard anything from dude in the way of a full CD, but I know yall come up with some good shit sometimes. If nothing else, it's an amazing beat to enjoy.

He's from Massachusetts and is of Ghanaian decent.

I don't know why I'm remembering him being in grad school when he made this record... don't quote me on that.

He didn't do muh afterwards because (I heard) of legal issues.

That comp was dope, I had already heard many of the songs on there due to me being an indie-rap nerd in that era but it collected a lot of the best stuff. I also dig the Natural Elements and Godfather on tracks a lot and there were some other good stuff. I remember that I HATED the G Dep song though...

not only that but duke had changed his style a bit and the producers on that lp completely bit the whole heatmakerz/just blaze/kanye sound of that era with their sped-up bootleg beats. that had me shaking my head and put me off the album quickly.

the best cuts were the bonus tracks which were his first and best songs, "Too Complex" and "It's Your Life".

Putting that 6 year old track on his album is the type of douchebaggery one would expect from a dude named "L Da Head Toucha".

most ridiculous rap names ever. I'd like to imagine his name is inspired by "Jeru the Damaja". "Jeru the Damaja" has a decent ring to it, but it's inches away from being awful. Namewise "L The Head Toucha" is 'Jeru the Damaja" is taking that same type of leap off the top rope, except his opponent rolled away right before impact.
