I don't mind his voice. Listen mostly for the songwriting production and arrangements. This one in particular if you can deal with his voice I think has a lot to offer your sensibilities.

Same. Feels like they over did it on the production. Trying to do too much.
They played Afro-Punk which I took my daughter too and she went crazy for em. They killed a lot of these songs live a lot better than how they play out on the album.

I guess it sounds too "electronic" for my tastes or maybe its not that and Im just not in the mood for that. I had to skip the title track. There are some good songs on it "Naked" and "Blaming Something", the later reminded me more of MJ and Stevie than Prince.

First few songs, I was laughing like "hell, he really did this...made a total Jam & Lewis tribute album"...but the throwbackness got a bit old after a while. I'd like to hear some of these songs with the more traditional arrangements from Compass. A bit heavy on the novelty of the bass synth, etc. But I really like the Super Collider-esq ending to why_ya_why and You Naked's hook is killer.

Prince yeah but damn who doesn't do that these days? NO ONE can do Prince like Prince...maybe one day folks will realize that and move on Which leads to another subject...who's the next heavily copied artist after prince??
