Their production is among the strongest in the game; Dead Prez knows exactly the type of sound they want and their records are never sloppy or poorly conceived.

Why are you so concerned about everyone else?
You were cautious about praising it because you are afraid of the Lessonhead backlash and want to you have your bases covered
If this was a Rick Ross album, you wouldn't need to qualify your like of the album
You'd just say you liked it.

This is a great album. It sounds great.

YOU LIKED THE ALBUM and still were too afraid to openly proclaim it in your post without a qualifier.

No. They simply say: "This is the best album ever made and if you disagree you're an evil soul who deserves to have your toenails removed slowly."
They don't say:
"I like Kendrick Lamar's album, but the 37,000 voices, the beats with 400 layers and the attempts at sounding like a cool kid (when he's not) might rub some listeners the wrong way."
Not sure why you have to appease the people who might not like it. Just talk about what YOU feel.
Again: the reason you didn't do that is that you're familiar with how irrational the Lesson is when it comes to groups like Dead Prez.

Admitting that would make you feel like you're praising something conscious, which you can't do.
How about you do this-
Listen to this album, like it (its good) and then immediately run to your blog and praise ASAP Rocky some more (he's boring and forgettable, but y'all love praising him because it makes you feel hip).
Dead Prez' shit is good.. Their lyrics are good. Their message is diverse and has evolved. The sound is sleek and refined.
Dead Prez makes great music, always has. Problem is that you guys think you're smart if you nitpick their stances politically when that has nothing to do with whether or not the music is good or not; its beats and rhymes. Judge it the way you do Rick Ross' shit.
