On both he actually wrote songs that hit well. People slept-on it for some reason. MM3 wasn't bad, but he was far too angry to make a well-rounded project....but it also gave one of his best records "All Of Me"

Mood Muzik 4 is probably one of my favourite mixtapes of all time(I haven't truly checked for his others that much). Tons of replay value, consistently great verses throughout, decent beats that fit the (forgive the pun) mood and some really good guest appearances.

Is the general consensus that he sucks? Overly emotional? Personality too annoying to want to listen to the music?
To me he's comfortably one of the best rappers hip hop has ever seen, he has a lot more non-cliche substance than almost any rapper I've ever heard. But I guess it kinda hurts him that he's never dropped an album anyone cares about? Hell, as much as I love his music, I've never even listened to his first album.
Would be interested to hear what most people think of him.

I only got into Budden after MM2, and no one ever really raves about his debut, other than to maybe say 'there's a few dope joints' so I just never bothered. Definitely need to give it a listen soon.

he is def one of the dopest mcs we have and has been influential he is one of the first to reinvent himself on the web and use social media to get back in things.
