"can we do a name the artist, list their top 10 tracks"

I'm personally curious about artists I haven't really checked for or its been a looonnng minute before I checked for em.

Plus it would also be interesting to see discussion on some newer cats (Gibbs, etc)

But anything is game-

album cuts
single only
guest spots
unreleased/remixes
etc, etc

Name the artist, list their top 10-15 tracks/performances...

These will all be wildly different and thee are SO MANY GREAT SONGS!

In My Life
Eleanor Rigby
Think For Yourself
Penny Lane
A Day in the Life
Hey Jude
Something
Let It Be
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Here Comes the Sun

George Harrison wrote some incredible songs and he's underrated next to the Lennon/McCartney hubris. I am a huge John Lennon fan though, I just deserves mention that Harrison wrote some of the Beatles best songs.

I Want to Hold Your Hand
Yesterday
In My Life
Eleanor Rigby
Tomorrow Never Knows
Strawberry Fields Forever
A Day in the Life
Hey Jude
Let It Be
Here Comes the Sun

BUT, if I had to do it again...

I Saw Her Standing There
She Loves You
I'll Follow the Sun
And I Love Her
Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)
For No One
And Your Bird Can Sing
Happiness is a Warm Gun
The Ballad of John and Yoko
You Never Give Me Your Money

But I could probably make 3 more of these and it'd be a toss up as to which one is best. For example, I still haven't included MARTHA MY DEAR, which might be my favorite Beatles song.

Kind of a meat and potatoes list, but I wanted to include the essentials:

Blowin' in the Wind
Don't Think Twice, It's Alright
Maggie's Farm
Like A Rolling Stone
Positively 4th Street
Visions of Johanna
Tangled up in Blue
Simple Twist of Fate
Hurricane
Changing of the Guards

And even then I didn't include anything past '78, nor did I include a lot of shit I really wanted to include:

It's All Over Now, Baby Blue
Masters of War
Subterranean Homesick Blues
I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine
Queen Jane Approximately
Wedding Song
Desolation Row
Ballad of a Thin Man
Forever Young
I Shall Be Released
Blind Willie McTell
etc.
etc.
etc.

10. Keeping the faith
9. Lullaby (Goodnight, my angel)
8. You may be right
7. Scenes from an Italian Restaurant
6. Captain Jack
5. She's got a way
4. Just the way you are
3. Honesty
2. My life
1. Moving out (Anthony's song)

I was motivated to make this list to emphasize my appreciation of these Billy Joel songs MUCH MORE than some of his other well-known songs. Not mainly because these songs are merely better than those not mentioned.
