He performed with K'Naan a couple years ago, and I caught Mos last song (Umi Says of course) and all of K'Nanns set. It isn't on PBS anymore, hopefully I will catch a rerun one day or something.

this was pretty boring to me for the most part.
All this percussive dubby stuff is NOT their forte. The grooves are really sub-par and their basically showcasing the weakness of the band.....it's drummer and Thom's dancing. And their bass player is not good at groove-based stuff either. He sounds like a really boring session player on these songs.
I'm a fan of Radiohead....but objectively? Some of this performance was kinda ridiculous. Hilarious even. What are they thinking?
I really like their records starting with OKC up until the latest which I found boring as well.
But I'm convinced alot of their fans are just eating this up because of their past work. It's really not good imo. The rhythms drive me nuts. It's like they're trying to make songless electronic music with a rhythm section that can't fulfill that role properly. Folk-rock guys trying to play blip bloop stuff.
Regardless, still a great band to me. I think Thom's gotten carried away now though. They really need to reel him in.
