"Death Grips - No Love Deep Web"

Death Grips just leaked the new album on their Soundcloud with no regard to their label....lol So far it sounds like a definite sequel to The Money Store but very very different.

this one will probably be enjoyed too.

Crazy they got signed to a major label. Did they think they'd be the new Rage Against the Machine?

i thought it was wild, too, and used to keep an ongoing, informal, mental list of weirdest major label releases, but now (http://board.okayplayer.com/okp.php?az=show_topic&forum=5&topic_id=2485865&mesg_id=2485865&listing_type=search#2744894) the book of normal has been thrown out the window as the majors try anything to remain "relevant"

It's been a pretty light year as far as musical aggression is concerned across musical ganre's....even Waka Flocka has toned it down. This just kicks you in the teeth and doesn't let up across all the tracks.

It's probably the weakest of the three projects so far...but only by a hair because it's so one minded as opposed to the other two albums. (You had quirky sample moments in Ex-Military, or the production experimentation in Money store to break up the assault)

But it's nice to hear a track just spit emotions straight through unfiltered, in a weird way it reminds me of the Fiona Apple as far as artistic statement is concerned (stripped down sounds, raw emotion).

One of my fav's for the year.

I'm actually glad its not as all over the place as the first two releases. This is that aggro rap shit that makes me see red and freak out all over the place in the club (not that it'll ever be played in one). No one's seeing Death Grips when it comes to that kind of energy right now, except maybe that TNGHT EP.

This shit is harder than that peen on the cover.

First thought was Trick Daddy over a stripped down Trent Reznor. Those drums were triggered live too? Makes it feel human but still cold.

I feel proud that they're from my hometown too. Sacramento. Shit they apparently recorded this album blocks away from my office.

Happy 50th D’Angelo: https://chrisp.bandcamp.com/track/d-50
