Spotted this clip and just couldn't believe nobody had mentioned how hype the crowd is. I've been to probably over a hundred concerts and at least in Toronto this type of crowd reaction is extremely rare. Even watching clips online I seldomly see an audience this into a show. One of the ones that stands out to me is a KRS ONE show from Akron, Ohio. There was a great clip I saw from onstage a few years ago but all I could find online today was this:
Doesn't capture it as well but still pretty cool. Also, again from a KRS show that I was supposed to go to but was in the hospital that day for kidney stones, this crowd was super hype when RZA came out:

wasn't billed, had no idea that he was going to be there
crowd was already hype over BDK and MC Lyte, KRS comes out, and that place goes INSANE. like the noise in there was football level and it was a small venue.

since it's 80% stoner college kids and 20% 40 year old black dudes with kids.
but last fall's Smoker's Club tour with Method Man headlining had the most hype-like moments. Two fights broke out in the crowd, about a dozen folks were lifted from the building for lighting up and the noise when Method Man finally came out definitely resembled something like a roar.
I also gotta give it to all the old dudes that went out to the Devin the Dude show and knew everything, even the new shit, word for word. Always a great sight to see and you really can't expect it from all but maybe one of the white kids in the front row that takes his shirt off and wears a crooked trucker hat.

that shit was w-i-l-d. 'Ye even jumped into the crowd to do Can't Tell Me Nothing. NY cats hate a lot of people but there was nothing but love for Kanye. And when he drove outta there in his Maybach it was a mob scene. Any Jay-Z concert will have a ton of energy too though, especially in NYC. This week and next, with him debuting a new arena in his hometown, we'll definitely see some crazy crowd environments.
