..."1983" or "Pattern + Grid World" which I consider his best; but I was a fan of his early beat-tapes ("Raw Cartoons" & "July Heat") as well.
I just want the spaced-out wonkiness that got me hooked onto him but updated instead of going too far out on failed ambient patterns, I want something that knocks in the whip while I can still chill-out to.

I think what's interesting to make such a claim is to disregard the other incredible albums of this year. 2012 was an interesting year for music with the merging of so many sounds and so many genres taking on new forms (i.e indie soul, electronic soul, indie rock soul, beat, blah blah blah). I just heard the entire Fly Lo album and its great!
I'm a fan but this shit sounds like someone stole all his inspiration and talent and left him with a room full of equipment. I'm surprised the label green lit this bs. One listen cuts like "Sultans request" or "Putty Boy Strut" and you're gonna cringe. I felt like I coulda done that shit.
