gotta echo O_E's an other's sentiments. This dude is just nice when he wants to be, and when he isn't making a straight up pop album. He's just a great "rapper". When he makes a song, he makes a fucking song all the way through. Rhymes, Flows, Hook, beat, they all fit, theres a message, it isn't contrived, its original, he's just got so much prowess with it. Now the album isn't touching The Cool by any means, but thats because it doesn't have any slam dunk bangers, but that album also was played to death by me so we'll see. Also the fact that the song that stood out most to me and had the most fun jamming was the T.R.O.Y Reinterpretation, but i dont think thats a bad thing, as theres been many songs that have been great that are just rehashings of classic beats, and he did it justice I think.
Anyway, i think it deserves more listens, but i dont get the hate on the beats. Beats are fine, his hooks are fine, everything here is SOLID. This might be the most above average rap album that came out so far this year to me after a few more listens. It's not making my dick hard, buts its definatel got me saying "yup, dope, yup, thats how you do it" alot.
Too bad he hates Israel *le sigh* ------------------- village.fm/okayplayer | @delajoo "Whether you're a rock star or a garbage man, if you think about yourself all the time, you won't be very good at what you do." - Frusciante
