and that one of em sounded like Hov (or was that Philly's Most Wanted?).

But Meek definitely ain't seeing Beans or Free in State Property era, prolly not Peedi either but I realize that might be a tougher sell.

I just love that dude's cadence on some of the stuff he's done with The Legendary & on the Money Making Jam Boys in the past few years.

behing Beans, Freeway and Young Chris.

Its a damn shame they all couldn't stay out of jail and on the same page at the same time...they really should have been bigger than dip set they had much better overall talent.

would State Prop have had Dipset-battling singles? Because Dipset ushered in a lot of the crossover pop/hardcore that's still cool today, even if they couldn't caitalize on the trap craze properly

From what we've heard of the crew in the decade since, they all want to pretend it's still 2000 (not that they haven't made great tracks/tapes/albums).

In response to Reply # 2

i think they were.
dip set basically ushered in the death of NYC rap
they were huge on okp and i'm assuming other parts of the internet
but i don't think dip set was moving shit commercially
pretty sure "flip side" or "what we do is wrong" was as big if not bigger than any dip set single

on the billboard charts, "whistle song" was number one and "ballin'," "oh boy" and "hey ma" were all in the top five.

Now u can argue between Beans and Camron who was more popular I can see a case for either.

but as a whole crew Dip set made a bigger impact.

beans and cam basically cancel each other out
so it's freeway, young gunz, and peedi crack vs.....juelz,hell rell and un kasa catalog lol
freeway albums by themselves have more classics/more popular than that
i guess dip set immunity was better than any state prop album
but that's about it
jim jones didn't really pop until after dipset was dead basically

run more than they do state prop...

yea I think its a case where the sum is more than the parts...

cause State prop are way more talented..adn you right as individual acts they had better carrers...but as a whole DIP SET click ...Dip set got it.

I guess they was more of a natural crew than State prop who was just about of people from the same city put togther...I guess you can say dip set was the same but it seem more organic.

I"m just saying thinking of them as a crew Dip set had a bigger impact.

Peedi is one of the most underrated MCs period. Meek basically rode his style(tho less technically skilled) to success.

he doesn't have any real affiliation with either set of dudes
but i wouldn't be surprised if he threw somebody a bone
he's had state prop dudes on some of his mixtapes and spade-o is in a couple of his tweeter pics tho i seriously doubt they really *know* each other outside of the 'hey i use to rap too let me lend u some street cred' shit that typically happens between old and new rappers from the same area

*just peeked at his tweeter, that's not even spade-o actually. it's ramon moore from temple bball team. they kinda look the same. nvm def won't be any major figgas on the album lol

In my opinion, the real question is will he debut have a feature of a great collection of songs?

Because I thought Dreamchasers 2 was wack as hell, and MMG is getting a little formulaic.
