My main issue with him is a surprising lack of personality. This kid sounds like he's trying to impress the 30+ crowd as opposed to being his own dude. The talent is there though so I'll definitely check out whatever he drops next.

his whole thing kinda comes across to me as Odd Future counter-programming. There's been some nice NY releases lately (Blue Chips, Respect The Fly Shit, Queens...Revisited) that manage to adhere to a traditional NY sound but are way more entertaining.
Yeah, I just think he is doing the type of Hip Hop that he likes. Has nothing to do with Odd Future. His vibe and kids around him have the same vibe. He is not trying to impress us, we dont buy music. White kids by music. He is not making songs like Mac Miller to get white kids money. He is just making Hip Hop that he likes. I like it b/c he is a normal kid and not trying to over do it with all personality and no skills...but oh well..

where are the blips and futuristic beats? The shock rap? The devil worship? LOL...
Is rapping over dusty beats... and if rapping over boom bap makes a guy come off as reaching or trying to hard it really shows how fucked up rap is right now.

If you talk to a lot of kids 17-21 right now who consider themselves "music heads" you'd know that they damn near worship the musical period of the 90's. It's what they like. Kinda like when cats born in the 70's went back and listened to 70's music in the 90's and were like WOW. Same thing is happening right now. The 20 year cycle is upon us. You're gonna see A LOT more of this in the next few years.
i fux wit him. and pretty damn good for a high school kid. i'd say he's got a long career ahead of him. i just hope he doesn't get corrupted by the powers that be and keeps on making good music.
