but it sounded like he just ignored the beat and rapped what he wanted to rap anyway. it's one thing for the definition of a freestyle to shift away from "off the dome rhymes" to fitting a written rap to another beat, but it's another to rap it the same way regardless of the beat. to me it sounded more like what a rapper would "freestyle" without any beat on at all, there just happened to be one playing at the same time.
i have this issue with so many "freestyles". can we please stop using that term since it nearly never is true.
clearly he had a rhyme he's been perfecting as apart of his album sessions he wanted to spit. imo this was not a good match to the track...the wordplay is good but the overall performance? bleh..
