"Anyone peep the Netflix doc on the making of "Nevermind"?"
Not sure how old it is, I just happened to catch it last night after the Celtics/Heat game went off. Very interesting. I liked that it wasn't necessarily a Nirvana documentary, but that it focused on the recording of the album. Some great insight from Krist, Dave and the producer of the album, Butch Vig. They talked about how they came to the decision to leave Sub-Pop and sign their own deal with Geffen. Vig discussed the recording of like 6 or 7 of the tracks in detail. He showed how he put the harmony between Dave and Kurt in for the chorus of "In Bloom" and then double-tracked each guy to make it sound fuller. They talked about where the idea for the "Teen Spirit" video came from and how wild the recording of it turned out to be. Vig also said that "Somethings in the Way" was the hardest song to record for the album and how it eventually didn't get done in the main studio, but in a side room with Kurt laying on his back on the floor playing the guitar and singing. They had to add the baseline, Dave's drums and cello after the fact. Nice little doc, I thought.

I've seen most of them. Some of the ones I didn't think I'd be that interested in turned out to be the best. Phil Collins' "Face Value" was superb, for example.
Netflix has a bunch available for streaming right now.

when I dropped down to "shows like this" while I was watching the Nevermind one last night, it didn't list anymore. It just showed me some more about Nirvana. I guess I could do a search for "Classic Albums". Thanks.
