.....on that front (it's why I love the look of the OKP message board). __ I don't like the beat anymore because its just a loop. ALC didn't FLIP IT ENOUGH!
Flip it enough? Flip these. Flip off. Go flip some f*cking burgers.(c)Kno

The old search sucked. It was a slow website that had very good music journalism. This new and improved site correctly addresses the main issues that plagued the old version and adds some very nice, new features in the process. I might have to start visiting allmusic more.

I need to use it more, but it seems pretty decent. It's got a lot to compete with since I feel like other services do similar things, but maybe better (e.g., last.fm, RYM).
The review system is a bit flawed/predictable still, though. Like a good new album will always get 4/5. I'm interested enough to add it to my bookmarks again, however.

generally i think the "web 2.0" social media-era "improvements" made to old web sites is just the further dumbing down of the internet, but i think i can get on board with this new change. swipe.
Many users have asked us for more ways to personalize AllMusic, and in the upcoming weeks we're planning to roll out some cool new features to the site:
Rate Your Favorite Albums
We're inviting you to tell us what you think about the albums on our site. How do you feel about Zaireeka by the Flaming Lips? Love Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music but hate Songs for Drella? Did D'Angelo's Voodoo change your life? Soon you'll be able to rate albums on the same five star rating scale as our editors.
See How Other AllMusic Users Rated Albums
We'll be showing off the average user rating and the number of times users have rated an album. Find out if the AllMusic audience agrees with our editorial ratings. Sort an artist's discography by average user rating to see what music fans think is the best album of the lot.
Get Personalized Recommendations Based on Your Likes and Dislikes
Tell us some of your favorite albums (and the albums you hate) and we'll find other albums you may be interested in. The more albums you rate, the more precise our suggestions can become.
Keep an eye on AllMusic in the coming weeks and once it's out there in the wild, please feel free to provide us with feedback.

Only with a professional reviewers review and rating highlighted. I don't understand why it's so important to showcase the voice of "the people" all the time nowadays. This I don't like. Sure, it's easy to ignore but the principle sucks. It won't surprise me if they soon will start publishing written reviews-as opposed to just ratings- by amateurs and then it will be just like fucking RYM...

i don't go to RYM or take most of the reviews there seriously, but that was my initial thought as well. so far we're just talking about a readers' average score next to the AMG review, which i'm on board with. sometimes there are AMG reviews that are so outside of the norm that it would be helpful to show that. it doesn't minimize the importance of the professional review, it just reveals something that should be known by the reader if it isn't already. there are enough readers that i think it will be interesting and useful to have.

Seriously, the old website's search sucked ass and was just a total mess. The reviews were what kept me in. Now, I see myself coming back to it on a daily basis.
