At the time, I probably dug Phil Collins more..

but nowadays, I find myself going back to Kenny Loggins' music more and more. I think I may have underestimated him as a kid.

This isn't funny anymore. You may have serious mental problems.

I'm actually really sad to push "Post message" right now.

Loggins from Messina years to about 1983

vs

Phil from Genesis years up until about 1986-7

I edge Phil because of the Genesis years (they still had some "prog"-ness to them in the end), plus his first solo album is an absolute classic

but I really can't ignore Kenny's excellent first three albums as a solo artist either. For all the schmaltz that both are known for pumping out as solo artists, there were a lot of gems.

Loggins has a real diverse musical palate as well. CELEBRATE ME HOME was real chill and kind of shocking when you consider the music he was doing right before then.

It's a toss up. Fuggit, I'm going with Loggins.

Because I think if Loggins really wanted to, he could be a convincing R&B singer/songwriter as well as what else he's known for.

Collins is an ill producer (I ride for Chinese Wall out of things he's responsible for), but he has a habit to "reach" a lil more.

Also, I may be crazy, but I feel like El DeBarge may have been influenced by Kenny.

Peep the vocals on Give it Half a Chance, especially towards the end. I close my eyes and hear Eldra.
