i had just gotten out of church and was getting some chicken and it was a beautiful day my grandmother and I had just gotten home and the news came on and I thought it was a joke,until the body bag, etc.. confirmed the news.

he was One of the Greatest Artists Ever and his work is timeless.

I was in kindergarden when all of this happened but I remember my grandmother wore out sexual healing and the entire midnight love lp. I remember seeing that lp around the house an awful love and she loves her some Marvin Gaye especially I heard it through the grapevine and gots to give it up. I cant get enough of side 1 of midnight love.....because side 1 of midnight love is perfection.

the marvin gaye 45s that I bought on the tamla label going on a year ago are in decent condition considering how old they are.

In the hooptie, marvin music was on the radio.

walked in the corner store people in the store was crying.

Mother and pop had the console stereo on quietly bumpin marvin gaye.
they played his music the entire night.
Quite possibly the most gloomy Sunday I ever experienced.
I was a kid. I didn't understand. But I sure understand now
