He's among the most difficult new dudes to listen to.

Production is always something else tho.

I really *want* to like him, but I'm rarely blown away.
I got onto him from the DD172 stuff (as did most, right?), but his solo track on 24HKS didn't really do it for me, but I did like him featured with others.
The MadStalley project is nice, but I love Shades of Blue, and having said that haven't thrown on the colab in a while.
I don't always check his tracks when posted on blogs.
Will definitely download the new one though and maybe he can change my mind.

His hooks, which tend to be decent to very good, and ear for beats save him for me. Still, the minute you hear him on a song with Curren$y, his deficiencies are readily apparent.

They're dominant but it's only like 30,000 folks following Pitchfork's G-Side recommendations that have any idea what they're doing out there

G.I.A.'s Boarding Pass isn't a stunning free album but their work on there (all but three or four tracks) is awesome as usual.

especially on Ross's mixtape and Jeezy's record.

so, its funny to me that he's now actually on a true Block Beattaz track.

it's a nice sound though, pretty cool IMO since Mike Will started out sounding like your usual C-list 1017 guy

its good, not great. i understand the Block Beataz appeal: they make soulful rap shit that would hit in the club, but they need the right emcee. AND I'M NOT SAYING Stalley aint the right rapper, like I've said before he's one of my new favorites. He even switches up his flow and gets in the pocket more on this record. BUT the chemistry seems off a lil too me on this tape. there is some great shit on here and some okay stuff. imma listen some more and come back with more thoughts

...but the comments on Stalley had me thinking of what it is about him that have kept me from riding completely with dude. To me, his problem is that he's never sounded as focused as he did on "Address" which was my introduction to dude.

If it weren't for the production, I won't even say it, dude seems like a cool cat, I want him to win.
