I just recently got into them. I've got their newest release titled "Odd Soul" and also "Armistice (Live)." I'm no rock head but I've seen them described as alternative rock with a blues tinge. I don't know anything about the Black Keys but I've seen folks say that some of Mutemath's stuff sounds like them.
They were in Orlando last weekend, so my girl & I went and they put on a very good show. I was just curious if anyone else is listening and if they have any observations or thoughts on them.
Here are a few songs. I didn't know they had all of these videos because I don't check for videos like that anymore.
i got put onto them a few weeks ago somebody posted their song in a p.a.y.s. (post a youtube sat/sun) post in GD and i be on them ever since not only is their music dope their videos are fucking ill cool group
i gave up on this kinda music back in high school 'cause i just stopped caring similar to how some white kids love rap until they reach a certain age and go back to liking just white people stuff? yea i'm the inverse of that lol in high school i was all about alanis morisette, 3rd eye blind, matchbox 20, ben folds five, incubus, dave matthews band etc etc etc then one day a white boy in my english class asked me what bands i liked he clowned me when i told him which i gave that shit up right then and there lol
but yea i say all of that to say mutemath reminds me of all the great things i loved about those groups i mentioned. back on my white shit.

Those 90s groups you named were big while I was in college. That was just before the internet started playing into the music scene. So while I don't know all of the big groups during that time, I have a sentimental spot for them.
I think MuteMath is working on a new album now. I think they have a spring tour coming up but they don't have any shows down here this time. They tore it up live and I'd absolutely see them again.
