No, his obnoxiousness has influenced his MUSIC; 'Bastard' and 'Earl' were just dope hip-hop albums. There was no whining, no commentary on fame, none of that.
'Goblin' was a complaining and alienation fest.
Tyler has gotten WORSE and his self-absorbed-ness has made his music much worse.
Back when he recorded and shot the video for 'Yonkers' nobody cared and he didn't have an audience to whine and complain about.

Hes possessive of OFWGKTA in general, and its admirable at some points cause he looks out for everyone and even though has most of the control over their decisions its usually a consensus anyway. As to the central issue: Tyler is very possessive and is an attention whore which is a bad combination in general...he was weirded out that HE WAS NOT the focus of the interview
As for Earl: He's not like Tyler -- he actually doesn't give a fuck about spotlight while Tyler absolutely needs it.
You can even tell from their twitter accounts: Earl barely gives a fuck. He's just not that type of dude. He's more MF Doom than Kanye West. Tyler is definitely more Kanye West.
Its a good mix because Tyler overdoes it and spreads the gospel...but its only a matter of time before it starts to annoy/weigh Earl down. Earl is the one with the purer talent and can go farther (Tyler is a very good lyricist, though)
