how could you listen to anything Jay Elec's made in his past and think he's gonna be blow up with his aesthetic and young music buyers?
I love Jay Elec, but he's just not a singles artist. he may get some attention for people who appreciate his throwback style, but i don't think anything he releases is gonna cause the market to shift back to boom-bap or 'golden-era-age' music.
i think Jay Elec will have his place in this day and age, but he's not gonna sell alot of units. that's just not him.

how come a single has to be a certain sounding song? "Ego Tripping Part Two" aint no single..aint even a hook on it lol just push a song off the album that best represents him, and let the album stay how Jay Electronica had it originally "Completed".

>how come a single has to be a certain sounding song?
i think now, more than any other time, there is no 'standard' for commercial success. i mean he could literally sell 1M singles off iTunes and does it off of twitter and blog buzz alone. (not that this is likely.)
but Exhibit C got alot of attention and it's not like that is a radio friendly song or seems like it would be at least.
