"I can't figure out Miguel's position "
Tue Feb-28-12 06:05 PM by Coco la chapelle

I'm listening to his new Ep which is really good : Adorn and Gravity sounds dope to me, if you like R&B then check it out.

But anyway, let's get back to point, this EP got me wondering about Miguel status. I know he features on a bunch of hot songs and I also know "Sure Thing" was #1 on urban radios last year but I still don't see that dude as a straight mainstream artist. Something about his music or his character just don't match. I don't know if it's just because he doesn't really fall into that R&B/dance/techno category that is hot right now or if it's because he actually has some kind of old school talent (whatever that means)...

What do you guys think ? Is it just me or does he really have some kind of underground vibe even if he's successful ? Is there any other mainstream singers or musicians that give you that feeling ?

Check these two...Cold summer http://youtu.be/gn4jAkt43LA and So Fresh ft. Nas http://youtu.be/2w15K0pFeZ4 . Salaam Remi produces him so it's all Boom Bap.

So it makes sense to why it sounds the exact same. But I hear a lot of Marvin in his style too.

And Salaam did both songs for CJ, and some of Miguel's songs, so yeah it's basically on some same exact formula, different artist type steez
