"Looking for new bands/artists from YouTube (For my new college radio sho..."
So first things first, you can check out the show here, it's called "The Dig". Its for my school IDC (Israel)'s radio network, they showcase english speaking shows on Saturday.
So I'm looking for some help with two things specifically.
1) Background instrumental music. I'm having a tough time finding music thats ambient, but still energetic enough that my cohost (whose very folky/metal/rock in taste) would be cool with. We used this aphex twin song but its not so awesome I think.
2) One of our segments called "Youtube Discovery", features bands and artists that have a following on a few blogs and on their YouTube Channel, but haven't broken out yet. Anyone you think would be cool for an indie show would be super awesome. Even if its a friend!
Thanks for your help!

i used to use the station's hip-hop 12" and cd single instrumentals and occasionally jazz vinyl, but if your station doesn't have these and you have to provide your own, you could always trawl through the many instrumental and electronic music topics here and in the archives for recommendations. i've been listening to ambient this afternoon: first elegi, now fennesz & ryuichi sakamoto.

this song by them called "corrupted tubing" off of this random album I found on the station's database, with a bunch "object" titled songs.
Right now weve been playing the Beastie Boys "The Mix-Up" and Clams Casino's mixtapes. Looking for upbeat, but not too crazy electronic. Wanna avoid Jazzy/soulful stuff (not my choice, my cohost is a bit of a nazi, but means well).

unless you got the title wrong, that isn't him.

you could blog search for instrumental versions of hip-hop albums (i just downloaded some of the ones by common) in addition to the beat tape topics i mentioned before.
And thanks for the support, I am totally loving it after only 3 shows so far. Justifies my music obsession as not just a thing I waste my time on.

host for a while now for my show. Right now the best I have is the last 3 shows get uploaded to this site http://1062fm.co.il/en/#/programs/music/2833 (can press play on the right hand side), however the web team at the radio station is kinda lacking so they are often slacking on keeping that updated.
I actually just decided to step away from this particular show in a few weeks (spending my summer break in brooklyn), and am starting a couple new shows when I return, one an underground hip hop playlist show, and the other a similar show to the Underground one that this is, but more focused on interviews with artists and creative types.
Thanks for hitting this post up, the appreciation and support that people on this board have for everyones work never surprises me.
The show streams live today at 3pm EST if you care to listen, same website.
